Dr. Kathleen Marker is a sociologist and expert in qualitative methodologies. Kathleen has nearly 20 years of experience working as a qualitative moderator conducting focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, and online qualitative discussion boards. She has expertise in a range of industries including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, wellness, CPG, retail, media, technology, entertainment, and financial services. Kathleen’s work has also spanned a range of research needs including segmentation, persona development, branding, exploratory qual, and concept testing, co-creation, and product development.
Kathleen is the founder of Quip Insights a qualitative research firm. Prior to joining USC, she served as VP of Qualitative Insights at Kelton Global where she ran research projects from inception to final reporting and oversaw the qualitative research team. Kathleen has taught at UC Berkeley and UC San Diego and worked at UC Berkeley’s Center for Ethnographic Research.
